About American Karate Academy
The American Karate Academy has been offering instruction and training in Karate since 1994. Located in Brentwood, Williamson County, TN, the American Karate Academy has produced champions in life as well as in the martial arts.
The AKA is led by Grandmaster Danny Chapman (9th Dan/Soke) and a staff of expert instructors and managers, including Mike Hoyal, Tim Bowles, Lindsey Culbreth, Cam Chapman, Matt Stonerock, and Michael Culbreth. The American Karate Academy offers a number of programs for physical fitness and instruction in Karate.
What is our Style? American Warrior Karate-Do
The style that we train in, American Warrior Karate-Do, was developed by Grandmaster Chapman after more than twenty years of training under several outstanding instructors.
AWKD is defined as a style that stresses the use of individuality and innovation in the use of techniques that work for the student regardless of style or country of origin.
What will I learn in American Karate?
You will learn fundamentals taught in many styles; kicking, blocking, punching, self-defense, sparring, and kata (open hand and weapons).
